April 27, 2014  St. Catherine’s CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN GIGANTIC TOY SALE

Students in the K-6 grade Religious Education Program at St. Catherine’s Parish have collectively donated hundreds of their gently used toys to be sold to the public to raise money for the Miles for Matthew campaign. All toys, no matter how large, will be sold for 50¢ each.

Matthew, a member of the parish, has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type I and must use a wheelchair. Through the Miles for Matthew campaign, the family is raising $35,000 to purchase a van to accommodate his wheelchair. 

Donations Currently being accepted at the church during business hours.  TOys in good condition, no stuffed animals or violent toys, please.

Halloween Costume Swap
We invite you to come to the Recreation Office on Friday night to swap your children’s costumes. This event is free and a great addition to the “going green and reuse” incentive that is sweeping the nation. We ask that you please bring a gently used CHILDREN’S costume to the Parks and Recreation office before Wednesday, October 10th at 4:00 PM in order for us to categorize them by size and make.

Hazardous Waste Collection – only held in even years (next one scheduled for 2014)
Look for a flier in your mail. This is where Westford residents can safely dispose of OIL based paints, motor oil and more.

Chelmsford PTO Recycling Day Fundraiser
Recycle your electronics, appliances, kitchen gadgets, wires and cables, phones, metal items and more for a fee. Benefits the Chelmsford Center School Enrichment program.

Leaf Collection
ACME Waste will be collecting leaves. Pus leaves, grass clippings and pine needles in paper leaf bags at the curb by 7am. Registration required – call the Town Clerk 978-392-5515.

Fee: $1.25 per bag, minimum $20 charge per pickup
